UVA—The overlooked killer
Until the late 90s, the American medical community didn’t pay much attention to UVA rays. For one thing, UVA damage is long-term, remaining invisible for years, so it’s difficult to quantify. Another complicating factor is that the role UVA rays play in this damage is harder to isolate. We now know, for instance, that UVA rays contribute to wrinkles, skin cancer and aging. But then, so do heredity, diet, environment and other factors.
You call that protection?
UVA radiation is also more problematic to protect against. Only three ingredients on the mainstream sunscreen market—oxybenzone, avobenzone and Mexoryl SX—can do the job. And even then, not for long. Because all three begin to break down the minute they’re exposed to UVA rays—and much faster than UVB sunscreen agents. So fast, in fact, that, depending on how much you apply, you get proper UVA protection from conventional sunscreens for about five minutes, ten tops.* *Depends on individual skin makeup, amount of melamine and other factors.
This changes everything!
Now, 3rd Rock Sunblock offers UVA protection that’s rewriting sunscreen history. (Click here for details.) Featuring a patented formula of ingredients and a patented manufacturing process that combines them in new ways to synergize their benefits, 3rd Rock protects better than any sunscreen ever! And thanks to no ingredient breakdown and excellent water resistance, that protection is so long-lasting, reapplication is frequently optional. (Ever think you’d hear a sunscreen maker say that?)
Great news for kids!
UVA rays penetrate far deeper than their UVB counterparts. And since children’s bodies are smaller and their immune and other systems still developing, the same amount of UVA exposure can put them at greater risk than adults. Which means that now, you can breathe easy knowing your kids are safer in the sun than ever before—compliments of 3rd Rock Sunblock
